Nurturing Comes Naturally To Me

“Nurturing Comes Naturally To Me”
Reflection Affirmation

To nurture others is to help them develop and grow into contributing members of society. As I am exposed to others each day, I see numerous opportunities to nurture them in some small way. And when those opportunities present themselves, I naturally want to help.

I might offer words of praise to a young co-worker who performed well in a business meeting.

I may pay particular attention to my friends whenever they are trying out something new. I offer encouragement to help them along.

When my teenager has friends over, I stop what I am doing to listen to them. I offer positive words to instill confidence and a healthy self-esteem. I think I can make a positive difference in their development by nurturing them.

When I am in a room with children, I gravitate toward them. I see them reaching out to adults for care and attention. I listen to them kindly and say something positive to them about what they are doing.

Regardless of the people I am surrounded by, I feel a natural inclination to care for them and foster their growth.

Today, I know I can make an impact on the lives of others through my naturally nurturing behaviors.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Do I naturally respond to younger people by nurturing them?
2. How comfortable am I about contributing to the positive development of others?
3. What steps can I take to increase my nurturing behaviors?
